What Is LNYI?

Established on 7 January 2024, Lifting Nigerian Youths Initiative (LNYI) is a registered non-governmental organisation (NGO) dedicated to empowering Nigerian youth.

We aim to create a brighter future for young Nigerians through targeted programmes and initiatives, enabling them to become productive, self-reliant, and impactful members of society.

Our vision is to create a platform that empowers every Nigerian youth to actualise their full potentials, lead fulfilling lives, and contribute meaningfully to national development.

Our mission is to identify talents among Nigerian youths, train and support them to excel and become active positive change agents in society.

Our Objectives

1. Create platforms for open dialogue and engagement

To understand the peculiar challenges of Nigerian youth and provide necessary guidance.

Action plans:
  • Organise physical meetings, webinars, and workshops to address contemporary issues around education, mental health, career development, and civic responsibility.
  • Partner with schools, universities, and youth organisations to reach a wider audience.
  • Use social media and other platforms to disseminate information and advice.

2. Equip young Nigerians with tools and opportunities

To help them discover, develop and maximize their talents to achieve their dreams.

Action plans:
  • Organise talent hunts, competitions, and exhibitions to showcase and nurture talents, particularly in arts, sports, technology, and innovation.
  • Provide access to training, resources, and networks to help youths develop their skills and passions.
  • Encourage personal development through workshops on peculiar topics such as leadership, communication, emotional intelligence, etc.

3. Provide financial, educational, and mentorship support

To talented youths from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Action plans:
  • Launch scholarship programmes to fund the education of brilliant but underprivileged students.
  • Provide mentorship and career guidance to help youths navigate their academic and professional journeys.
  • Provide special support to the physically challenged (handicapped) youth.

4. Empower Nigerian youth with practical skills

To foster self-reliance and economic independence through entrepreneurial knowledge.

Action plans:
  • Partner with organizations and individuals to sponsor vocational training programmes and establish skill acquisition centers.
  • Provide startup grants, tools, and mentorship to young entrepreneurs.
  • Organize entrepreneurship boot camps and business plan competitions to inspire and support innovative ideas.

Bright Minds Scholarship Programmes

Financial support for academically gifted but financially disadvantaged students. We also provide mentorship, guidance and financial support for fresh graduates seeking international scholarship opportunities.

Skill-Up Nigeria

Vocational training programmes for equipping youths with marketable skills. We offer training in fashion design, carpentry, agriculture, computer literacy, digital marketing and other legitimate remote (online) businesses.

Entrepreneurship Hub

A platform for young entrepreneurs to access training, funding, and mentorship. We provide startup grants, tools, and organize entrepreneurship boot camps and business plan competitions to inspire and support innovative ideas.
